There are many different styles of calligraphy. We teach a unique Chinese style of Tao Calligraphy - One Stroke Calligraphy, taught by Shu Fa Jia (National Master of Calligraphy) and Professor and Dr. Zhi Gang Sha, the consultant of the National Board of Advisors at the State Ethnic Academy of Painting in Beijing, China.
The art of calligraphy is not only the painting of beautiful pictures. In its highest form, calligraphy is a kind of meditation.
During the practice of calligraphy, the artist goes into a deep meditative state and can reach profound relaxation. This way one can maintain faculties of mind like focus and sharpness and one can achieve inner peace and joy.
Calligraphy can be learned by anyone. However, as practitioners continue in training, they soon realize that there are many levels of achievement. Calligraphy can be a lifelong study.
I have students who just want to try calligraphy for fun. Others train their mind for practical purposes. For some students, calligraphy is a spiritual endeavor.
As a certified Tao Calligraphy Teacher, I proudly serve clients and students world wide by webcasts and locally.
Due to Covid-19 our classes are currently held only by videoconference (Zoom).
